Mission Statement:
The Academy Associates is an organization of young adults committed to supporting Chicago Jesuit Academy by promoting awareness and encouraging involvement through effective community action in the forms of volunteer service, social fundraising, and other Academy advancement initiatives.

CJA Tutoring

Chicago Jesuit Academy holds tutoring sessions daily from 4:45 to 6:00pm for students who need additional one-on-one assistance with school work.   One of our main service commitments, as the Academy Associates, is to provide tutors one evening a week.  We are currently looking for individuals who can commit to volunteer on Tuesday evenings starting this fall.  If you are interested in volunteering or have additional questions, please contact Muriel Jean-Jacques at mjeanjacques@gmail.com.

If you are interested in tutoring, but are unable to commit to every Tuesday, please let us know as we will need a small cadre of substitute and holiday season tutors..

Recent Events:

Give-A-Little Gala – November 22, 2008 – 7pm

Our second annual gala will be held at the Chicago History Museum on Saturday, November 22, 2008.  The event will feature gourmet catering, live music, silent auction, and admittance to the Chicago History Museum’s “Catholic Chicago” exhibit.   All proceeds will benefit the students of Chicago Jesuit Academy.

Spring Cleaning Service Day – June 7, 2008

Thank you to the 19 volunteers who helped to make our annual spring cleaning service day such a success!  After a busy school year, the classrooms got a good cleaning and the grounds got some much needed weeding.

Chicago Cubs vs. Pittsburgh Pirates – May 17, 2008

The weather was beautiful, the final score was not as pretty, but our sold out Cubs outing raised $800 towards the scholarship fund.  Thanks to all who came out!

I ♥CJA – February 22, 2008

Our third annual Show Your Love for CJA happy hour was held this winter at Kirkwood Bar and Grille in Lincoln Park.   Over 100 people were in attendance and the event raised over $2000 for the students.
