"I have the audacity to believe that peoples everywhere can have three
meals a day for their bodies, education and culture for their minds,
and dignity, equality and freedom for their spirits."
–Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Students who attend Chicago Jesuit Academy
will be the next generation of leaders in the City of Chicago.
Therefore, talented men and women who wish to be employed by Chicago Jesuit Academy as teachers or administrators must demonstrate a past and continued commitment to academic excellence, professional development and the best ideals of the Roman Catholic faith.
Currently, Chicago Jesuit Academy is considering candidates for the position of Reading and Language Instructor and Spanish Instructor.
Strong candidates for teaching positions are disciplined workers, compassionate listeners and tireless advocates for the young men they serve. Most importantly, they approach their work as a vocation. The success of each Academy student hinges upon the determination and excellence of our faculty. There is no greater relationship at the Academy than the relationship between teacher and student. As a full-scholarship middle school, Chicago
Jesuit Academy succeeds because of the generous sacrifices
made by our students, parents, faculty, staff, volunteers
and benefactors.
Strong teaching candidates will have knowledge of the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm and believe in an education that forms the whole person—cura personalis in the Jesuit tradition. These candidates will also be expected to have outstanding interpersonal skills, excellent organizational skills and relevant teaching experience.
Certification and a master’s degree in one’s desired discipline(s) are preferred.
